Problem In Interior School

Upon completion of your course, you are posted to an interior school which poses some challenges to you. Among the problems that you face are:
  • low English proficiency among the children
  • most of the school children are absent on Mondays
  • some parents do not bother about their children's achievements in school
As an English teacher, what would you do to improve the prevailing situation? Your write-up should not be less than 300 words. Give a suitable title to your post.

Problem In Interior School

Nowadays ,every people in this world thinks that education is the most important for living. Even the parents also want to send their children to kindergarten at age of 4.Education can fulfill your desire like if you want to be billionaire ,must have education. If you want to become engineer, must have education. That it’s the set mind of the most people in the world. But in our case, there is some of the people that not take care or not to worry the important of the education for they live.We can see that at the interior school in our country that is there have been some prevailing situation. There are low English proficiency among the children, most of the school children are absent on Monday and some parents do not bother about their children’s achievement in school. How to prevent this prevailing situation become more and more serious?

Just  like I mention it earlier,we can prevent it from become worse. The first thing is,the teacher must become more intelligent to get attention in the English class. What I mean is the teacher must know how to make the children like to English subject.Example is when in the class, make some activity like sing a song n English, make a game that relevant or related to English subject, make some competition between the children and the winner get some prize like chocolate candy and others. This type of strategy can make the children want to learn English and make them become like or love to English subject.

How about the second problem? The second problem is about most all of the children are absent on Monday. This problem must been take care seriously because when they bring this problem into the secondary school,it will become more worst and also maybe it will become a habit until university. To prevent it from become worst is the school must take action about this problem and try to do something like watch cartoon movie about English on Monday, doing sport on Monday because children like to play and anything else that can change the habit of the children from absent to attend to the school on Monday.

The third problem is about the parent do not bother about their children’s achievement in school. When the parent do not take care about their children, the children will left the education and only become the worker at the construction or extra. What must we do? We must make some discourse to the parent about the important education to the children. This idea will make the parent become more patient to the children and make their children to get hard in study and get a good result in examination.

Therefore,it is important that the children get  enough education with the supportive from teacher and the most important is get support from their children.Thank you.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry wants to put more counsellors in secondary schools to curb discipline problems among students, said its deputy minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong.
He said the ministry hoped to reduce the current student-counsellor ratio of 1:500 to 1:300.

Dr Wee, who is also the MCA Youth chief, said it was only a mere 2% of secondary students with disciplinary problems and most were repeat offenders.
“Education is not only about teaching and knowledge. It is also to mould a student’s well-being. Some first time offenders have benefitted from counselling and no longer play truant or cause problems at school,” he said.
He added that enforcement such as suspension, warnings and expulsion should only be used as a last resort.
“We are not a prison, but an institution. We need to educate the students,” he said, adding the ministry was working with Persatuan Kaunseling Malaysia to train more counsellors.
